THE WORLD’S GAME IN OUR BACKYARD
Every four years, the world turns its attention to the FIFA World Cup, the world’s most watched event. The latest one occurred last year in Russia where an estimated 3.5 billion people watched the World Cup Final between France and Croatia.
Canada is a prime example of soccer’s continued growth worldwide, with the sport being the most played at the youth level in our country. With the announcement of the 2026 FIFA World Cup set to be hosted by Canada, USA and Mexico the sport continues to make strides in the north. The rapid growth is what led to the creation of the Canadian Premier League and the emphasis to develop young Canadians for the future.
Pacific FC have made it a priority to play not just young local Canadians, but players from British Columbia. With the goal in mind to have players representing the red and white in the years to come. June 23rd will be the next chance to come watch and support this team as they challenge in the 2019 CPL rankings.
