Every four years, the world turns its attention to the FIFA World Cup, the world’s most watched event. The latest one occurred last year in Russia where an estimated 3.5 billion people watched the World Cup Final between France and Croatia.
Canada is a prime example of soccer’s continued growth worldwide, with the sport being the most played at the youth level in our country. With the announcement of the 2026 FIFA World Cup set to be hosted by Canada, USA and Mexico the sport continues to make strides in the north. Pacific FC have made it a priority to play not just young local Canadians, but players from British Columbia. Founded in 2018, Pacific Football Club brings professional football to Vancouver Island. Playing out of a renovated, 6000-seat Westhills Stadium in Langford, the club will provide an outlet for Canadian soccer players to compete at the professional level of the sport on home soil.
