Aparicio Returning for 2023!

Manny Aparicio will be returning to Pacific FC for the 2023 Canadian Premier League season.

“Manu is a top player in this league and one of the most dynamic box-to-box Canadian central midfielders in the game,” says Pacific FC head coach James Merriman.

Aparicio returns for a third season on the Island after a brilliant campaign in 2022 that saw him nominated for multiple year-end awards. Although interrupted by injury and suspension, the 27-year-old made 23 appearances in all competitions in 2022 and finished with two goals and four assists. Aparicio was also named to the CPL Team of the Week six times last season, the most of any Pacific FC player.

In his two seasons with Pacific, Aparicio has totalled 48 appearances, six goals, and seven assist. The all-action midfielder was a major part of the Tridents’ 2021 CPL Championship winning team and was nominated for the CPL Player of the Year and Player’s Player of the Year awards in 2022. Aparicio was also crucial to Pacific’s run in the 2022 CONCACAF League where the club met Jamaica’s Waterhouse FC and Herediano FC of Costa Rica.

“Last season was maybe his best in terms of match impact in his performances,” says Merriman. “We know the quality that he brings to our team, the energy he has on the field, and we believe he is coming into his best football.”

Aparicio’s return means Pacific FC’s roster for 2023 now stands at 18. Final roster additions will be announced in the coming days and weeks.
