‘It’s exciting to watch those guys play’: Toronto FC’s MacNaughton congratulates former Pacific teammates on Concacaf win
Canadian Premier League

Although Lukas MacNaughton has been watching from afar this season, he hasn’t lost track of what’s going on at Pacific FC.

The Toronto FC defender, who signed for the MLS club this past offseason after three years in the CPL on Vancouver Island, told reporters this week that he did not miss Pacific’s recent Concacaf League triumph over Waterhouse FC.

“To go to Jamaica and have a tough game, but then come back at home and do the business, that’s what it should be,” MacNaughton said. “It’s exciting to watch those guys play, all my friends, and I wish them the best for the whole season. Hopefully they can keep going.”

MacNaughton also reflected on his time at Pacific and how the club has grown over the past four seasons, commending them on how they’ve remained among the CPL’s top sides despite roster turnover this year.

“The three years that were built there, by the time I left there was really a good organization that was built, a system, style of play, and a core group of players that knew what it meant to win and how you have to win,” he said. “They obviously went through ups and downs with roster changes, but they’ve kept that mentality and I think it’s shown.”
