Pacific Football Club is proud to announce plans for a new training facility on Kettle Lake Drive. The facility will be the largest indoor field house in British Columbia and is currently under construction on land leased from the City of Langford.
The 55,000-square-foot facility will be for Pacific FC training sessions and will be available by rental from national level to youth level in multiple sports. The full-sized field can be broken into smaller-size configurations as needed.
“We’re trying to grow soccer on the Island,” said Pacific FC president Josh Simpson. “We want to build the culture of soccer and how do you do that? You get facilities like this one. It’s going to make soccer fun.”
The $5-million facility is another example of Pacific FC’s investment into the community and aim for development while building the soccer culture on the Island.
“We are doing the best things we can for the development of our players and to make a positive impact on the Island,” said Simpson. “This is something that is screaming to be built here. We are leasing the land from Langford, but this facility is our own investment. We’re really excited about this.”
The ongoing partnership between the Canadian Premier League (CPL) club and the City of Langford was a key component behind the decision for the location. The facility is located near Langford Lake, in the Kettle Creek Crescent area.
“We’re very excited about the new indoor training facility Pacific FC is building in Langford,” Mayor Stew Young stated. “Not only does this year-round venue add another artificial turf to our community, but it provides opportunities for youth, community groups and high performance teams to practice and compete at the next level no matter how bad the weather is.”
Pacific FC return home this weekend following a major 2-1 road victory against Valour FC of Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Island contingent will be hosting FC Edmonton at Westhills Stadium in Langford on Sunday, June 23rd. Kickoff is set for 3:00 PM PST.
