Samake Returning for 2022 Season!

Abdou Samake will be returning to Pacific FC for the 2022 Canadian Premier League season.

The 25-year-old defender was a revelation last season, playing in 28 games in all competitions and finishing with the fourth-most minutes played for the club while helping to keep seven clean sheets. After a relatively quiet first season with the club at The Island Games, Samake filled the open centre-back role next to Lukas MacNaughton and made it his own. The Mali-born but Ottawa-raised centre-back showed he is a durable and intelligent defender capable of anticipating his opponent’s decision in one-on-one situations. An unfortunately-timed injury kept the former University of Michigan player out of the CPL final victory over Forge, but Samake’s rapid growth last season provides an excellent base to continue his development in his third season on the Island.

Samake joins the previously announced returnees and will be joined by more in the coming days.
