Niklas Hallam selected fourth overall by Pacific FC in 2025 CPL-U SPORTS Draft

In the 2025 CPL-U SPORTS Draft, Pacific FC selected winger Niklas Hallam from the University of Toronto with the fourth overall pick. Hallam, a member of the Van Isle Wave 2005 Boys team, will be the sixth former Wave player to earn a contract with the Vancouver Island based professional club.

“Niklas is a player we know very well developed in our youth system. He joined part of our pre-season last year and was showing his potential,” said James Merriman, Head Coach, Pacific FC. “Niklas had a very strong first season at Toronto and we are excited to see his progression in our environment.”
The Victoria, B.C. native shined during his first collegiate season playing for the University of Toronto Blues. Hallam was awarded the OUA East Division’s Rookie of the Year in 2024, with 10 goals for U of T — second-most in the conference. He scored two hat tricks for the Blues, including one in just his second game at the OUA level, and also found himself named a Second Team All-Star.
He was also picked to the U SPORTS All-Rookie Team and was named a Second Team All-Canadian. The talented, goal-dangerous winger is one of the youngest players in this year’s draft class at just over 19, but he has proven himself capable at the U SPORTS level.
Niklas Hallam will get his first taste of professional action at Pacific FC’s pre-season training camp at the Pacific Institute of Sports Education (PISE) next February.
