Langford, BC – (January 30, 2024) – Pacific FC announced that they have picked up their club option on Ayman Sellouf ahead of the 2024 CPL season. Sellouf will be joined by fellow forward Adonijah Reid, who will be returning to the club under contract for the upcoming 2024 CPL season.
Sellouf, 22, was a revelation for Pacific as an offensive weapon that was routinely deployed off the bench to spark the Tridents and generate opportunities in the final third. In his first season in the CPL, Sellouf dazzled fans with his technique and trickery, both of which translated to end product, to establish himself as one of the most dangerous attackers in the league.
“Ayman is one of the most exciting players in the Canadian Premier League and someone with a huge potential. His 1v1 dribbling and ability to create space is amongst the best in the league and he has an incredibly high ceiling,” said Dixon, Manager of Football, Pacific FC.
With seven goals and eight assists in CPL action, Sellouf finished the season with the highest number of goal contributions in the league and earned himself a nomination for Player’s Player of the Season – the one award voted on by fellow professionals.
“We know that Ayman has the ability to consistently be an attacking threat for this club and will be looking for him to take that next step and solidify his role in the starting eleven and show his quality week in, week out,” declared Dixon.
Reid, 24, is also coming off his first season with Pacific FC, recording five goals and four assists across 29 appearances. The five-foot-six attacker flourished in tight spaces within the box, using his rapid acceleration and low centre of gravity to beat his man.
Former Pacific FC captain and current Manager of Football, Jamar Dixon, first met Reid when Reid was loaned to Ottawa Fury as a 17 year old. Dixon took the then teenage Reid under his wing after seeing the potential the young attacker possessed.
“We’re incredibly excited to have Adonijah (Nijah) back for the 2024 Season. Nijah has a great eye for goal and is constantly getting into positions to not only score but also to create for his teammates,” expressed Dixon. “We’re confident that Nijah can take the next step in his development and become a prolific goalscorer in the Canadian Premier League. Nijah is a player who has the ability to change the game with one moment, one action.”
Reid’s most notable highlight from last season was a stoppage time playoff winner against York United in the 4v5 play-in match at Starlight Stadium. Reid, a Brampton, Ontario native, was named to CPL’s Team of the Week roster four times last season highlighting his impact alongside Sellouf on the attacking line.
