Pacific FC Re-Signs Defensive Core, Striker Alejandro Díaz

Victoria, BC (Friday, November 13, 2020) – Pacific Football Club is bolstering its roster for next season with the re-signing of four players, Alejandro Díaz, Kadin Chung, Lukas MacNaughton and Thomas Meilleur-Giguère.

“All four of these players are important building blocks for Pacific as we continue to grow and build a team that will fight for a championship,” said Pa-Modou Kah, Head Coach, Pacific FC. “We have loved working with each of them as people and players.”

Díaz, 24, was an exciting signing for Pacific in the 2020 season coming from Club América, one of the biggest professional clubs in Mexico. The forward joined the CPL with 56 appearances across Mexico. Kah touts the Mexican striker as a fantastic professional and a humble person who continues to get better.

Defender Kadin Chung was the first signing to Pacific FC when the club launched in 2019. Hailing from Port Coquitlam, Chung, 22, had a solid performance at the Island Games in Prince Edward Island where he made an appearance in all but one match.

Fellow defenders MacNaughton and Meilleur-Giguère round out Pacific’s backline and the duo received accolades for their efforts in the summer tournament. MacNaughton, 25, was the first of the two to join the Pacific in its inaugural year coming from Ontario’s League 1.

Thomas Meilleur-Giguère, known to his teammates and fans as TMG, was signed to Pacific in January 2020 from the Ottawa Fury. The 23-year-old from Repentigny, Quebec is a big presence on the Pacific backline along with MacNaughton where they both stand at more than 6 feet tall.

“Lukas and TMG are a strong partnership which will continue to grow and get better,” said Kah. “They are always looking for ways to improve their game.”
