PFC unveils Primary, Alternate Kits for 2023 Season; TELUS joins as front of jersey sponsor with designs inspired by the West Coast

Langford, BC – (April 5, 2023) – Pacific FC today unveiled its primary and alternate 2023 kits ahead of the kickoff of the Canadian Premier League’s milestone fifth season later this month.

Pacific’s trio of 2023 kits, including new primary and alternate jerseys, are inspired by the area in which the club lives and works.

“Our club takes great pride in our home on Vancouver Island and the beauty and nature that we have all around us,” said Paul Beirne, Managing Director, Pacific FC. “Our kits this season reflect some of the best of what the Island and our province has to offer.”

All of Pacific’s jerseys will feature TELUS as the front of jersey sponsor. The CPL announced TELUS as the League’s Official and Exclusive Telecommunications, Digital Health and Home Security Partner earlier today. The partnership runs through 2027.

“As an organization committed to the health and well-being of Canadians, we’re proud to partner with Pacific FC and bring together our commitment to giving back with our passion for soccer through the delivery of unique game-day activations, exclusive offers and support for local charitable organizations,” said Patrick Barron, Vice President of Corporate Citizenship and Community Investment. “With a shared vision to leverage the power of sport to make a meaningful impact in our local communities, our partnership will bring much needed awareness and support to important causes, both on and off the pitch.”

Pacific FC’s primary kit features a sublimated design of one of the province’s most treasured animals, the spirit bear, the rare, white-coated black bear that calls the coastal temperate rainforests of Northwestern British Columbia home. The kit comes in Pacific’s traditional purple colour and includes hints of gold, fitting of the club’s past League successes. It will be Pacific’s predominant kit at home matches for the 2023 season.

The club’s new alternate kit pays homage to the West Coast through a collage of imagery such as ocean waves as well as of the surfing, camping and paddling activities that are reminiscent of the true Island long weekends, warm nights and salty summers that make this area of British Columbia unique. The kit’s pale teal pattern echoes the colour of ocean waves, while the sleeve border and collar details harken to sandy beaches.

Pacific’s collection of 2023 kits will once again include the club’s award-winning third kit, which was designed by local Coast Salish artist Maynard Johnny Jr. and honours the culture and history of the Indigenous communities on Vancouver Island.

The club will take to the field in its TELUS-branded jerseys beginning with the season and home opener at Starlight Stadium in Langford, B.C. on Saturday, April 15 against West Coast rival Vancouver FC.
