Pacific FC announced today that Dutch attacker, Djenairo Daniels will be departing Pacific FC ahead of the 2024 CPL season. Daniels, more commonly known to fans as DJ, joined the club prior to the 2022 season making 54 appearances, scoring six goals and tallying three assists during his time as a Trident.
“DJ was a player who came into Pacific FC looking to find his feet and settle into a new culture and atmosphere,” said Jamar Dixon, Manager of Football & Player Development, Pacific FC. “He was always committed to learning and developing as a person and as a player. He is an incredibly passionate person who demanded a lot from himself and was always willing to give his all on the field for his teammates and his club.”
The Amsterdam-born forward brought style to Pacific on and off the pitch; garnering recognition for his distinct fashion sense and tenacious play style. On the field, Daniels excelled when deployed as a lone centre-forward, continuously pressing to single-handedly break up the opposition build up play. His most notable goal of last season came against Forge FC in early June, chasing down a long ball and forcing the Forge defenders and goalkeeper into a mistake which he pounced upon to score and win the match for Pacific 1-0.
“DJ is at a good place to move on and find the next step and next opportunity in his career. On behalf of everyone at Pacific FC, we wish him the best in his future. He will always be a Trident” expressed Dixon.
