The 2024 Canadian Premier League Playoffs will kick off in Toronto this week, as York United FC host Pacific FC on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at York Lions Stadium (7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m.)
As the fourth-place side, York will host the opening match of the 2024 CPL Playoffs. They take on fifth-place Pacific, with the winner moving on to next Sunday’s quarter-final against third-place Atlético Ottawa at TD Place.
This will be the third playoff game in York United’s club history, but it will be the first time they’ve ever hosted a postseason match at York Lions Stadium. Last season, they were the fifth-place side and travelled to play Pacific in the fourth-versus-fifth game, losing 1-0.
Meanwhile, Pacific have qualified for the playoffs in five consecutive seasons now, and are looking to replicate the success of 2021 when they won the CPL championship. Last season, after beating York in the opening game, they went on to beat Halifax Wanderers in the quarter-final before bowing out to Cavalry FC.
Tickets for this Wednesday’s match are available here.
The match will also be available to watch live on OneSoccer, FuboTV, and TELUS channel 980.
